Welcome to Hereford Hospital Radio
Broadcasting to Hereford Hospitals for 50 years!
Hereford Hospital Radio has been broadcasting since 1972, following a project set up by the Herefordshire County Youth Service and Hereford Lions Club. Over the years the station has been heard any many of the county’s hospitals but now focuses its broadcasts at the County Hospitals, where it has its studios.
Each year volunteers from the station attend many events around the county raising funds to keep the station on the air. Our volunteers efforts provide the majority of the funds to keep the station on the air..
During the current time the station is still on air and producing and broadcasting live programmes each day to the patients and staff at the County Hospital. The charity invested in some technology to allow for this a number years ago.

Five city centre businesses we waved goodbye to in 2025: In 2025, several businesses in the city centre have closed, including Andrew Heaton's second-hand book stall in the Butter Market in Hereford. The closure was attributed to the difficulty of maintaining a business in the current climate. Paul Beale and Craig Stanton's shop, which had previously run a stall in High Town, had taken on a shop unit for a couple of months before deciding to relocate. The owners of Broad Street Italian restaurant Cotto announced it had shut its doors on January 4, 2025, with the premises set to be taken over by the Coffee Cart Company. In August, the Patty Parlour closed its doors permanently on Bewell Street, with a new pub, The Hole in the Wall.
